Travel to Charleville on the Warrego Highway from Brisbane, on the Kidman Way and Matilda Highway from Cunnamulla and NSW, or from Longreach.
Day 1 Charleville
In Charleville, experience the vital role payed by the Royal Flying Doctors Service and School of Distance Education to overcome the isolation of outback life. Let history come to life as you walk the halls of Myendetta Homestead. Nostalgia-buffs will love the treasures of Historic House and Corones Hotel. Find the answers to all your questions about the universe at the Cosmos Centre, returning to the Observatory tonight to marvel at the night skies through powerful telescopes. An option of a scenic flight can be offered today.

Day 2 Charleville to Quilpie (210km)
Head out this morning enroute to Quilpie and stop in at the ghost town that is Cooladdi. Visit the historic original railway station and grab some morning tea at the Cooladdi Foxtrap. Arriving in Quilpie, visit Ray Station and learn of the legendary Tully & Durack families who pioneered the pastoral industry in this region. See an opal cutting demonstration, marvel at the opal altar of St Finbarr's and learn of Amy Johnson's landing. Take in the panoramic views from Baldy Top Lookout and enjoy the tranquil Lake Houdraman. Take a tour of the open cut opal mines and fossick through the mullock heaps. This evening spend the night at one of Quilpie's farm stays and enjoy a glass of wine on the verandah.

Day 3 Quilpie to Windorah (246km)
Today we explore the beauty of the Barcoo, with stunning vistas, picturesque ruins and historical sites. Just to the west of Windorah are the magnificent red sand dunes. We now follow a scenic nature drive to the mighty Cooper Creek where you will be amazed at the abundance of birds and wildlife.

Day 4 Windorah to Longreach (310km)
An early start today as we complete the final leg of our Outback Adventure travelling on to Longreach. En route we will stop off in the country towns of Jundah and Stonehenge as well as enjoy the natural beauty of the Rock Holes and Swanvale Lookout.
