Q. Is it hard to get there?
A. No
The region has an extensive system of themed highways and byways. All major roads are sealed and maps are readily available to help you get around. If you are feeling a little unsure all you need to do is stop at one of the many visitor information centres and ask for directions.
Rail travel to the region is also easy. There are three Queensland Rail services that travel into the region twice a week to Charleville, Longreach and Mount Isa.
The area is well serviced by coaches. Greyhound Australia travel throughout the region and offer a range of travel passes.
QantasLink operate services from Brisbane to Longreach, Blackall, Barcaldine and Charleville. Skytrans provide air services linking the remote communities of the Outback region. West Wing Aviation also provides flights from Townsville to Winton and Longreach and return.
Q. When I get to Queensland's Outback, is there enough to do?
A. Yes
